I was sitting upstairs thinking about what blog i wanted to write first this weekend when this topic popped into my head. I've been thinking about the world and state of affairs at the current time. I've been pondering relationships, family ties, and friendships. I've been following the news stories of war and famine, heartache and sadness. I've been watching politics, grown men and women acting like some of the kids i used to know in the sandbox. There's a lot going on in the world that can be concerning right now.
Then i read a quote, and it reminded me of where my focus and knowledge needs to be; especially in this given moment in time. Let me share it with you below.

I love this quote so much. During life's storms we sometimes forget who we are. We sometimes forget where we are and where we are going. We have each come from a heritage greater that we can probably comprehend in this life. We have lived with our Father in Heaven and been in his holy presence. We have chosen to follow his beloved son, Jesus Christ, the savior of the world. We have already chosen our side before we even came to this earth and received a body. We MUST remember this! It is our duty and privilege to stand up for what we know; for what we already fought for before in the very beginning.
Life will not all be storms, but they will come. We have opportunities to use them to our advantage. We can be like the house in the Wizard of Oz and be swept off to another land with the current forecast, or we can choose to plant our feet firmly in our beliefs and stand up for something we believe in. Stand up for our families. Stand up for what is true and right. Stand up for a belief in something better than this fallen world has to offer. Stand up for the promises we made to a loving Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ. They know our worth. Do we?
I challenge you this weekend to kneel in prayer and talk with your Father in Heaven. Don't be repetitive or short in your offering. Be sincere and patient. Speak your mind and offer your hearts convictions. He will listen. He always hears our prayers. Ask him for guidance. Ask for courage. Ask for strength and knowledge to fulfill your talents and abilities that he gave you. Ask for comfort and peace. Then patiently and softly open your eyes and see what he reveals to you. I promise if you do this with pure intent and a sincere heart, he will show you something that will astonish you. He wants you to come to him. He wants to bless you. Through his love, any storm can be weathered and the darkest night will always lead to a new and beautiful morning.

That was beautiful 🙏🏻🩵🤍
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. This year I have challenged myself to read 1 chapter from the Bible and 1 from the Book of Mormon every morning. I feel closer to my Heavenly Father for the first since I was a full time missionary back in the 80's and I'm grateful for all my blessings
Such beautiful thoughts. It is so comforting to know our Lord is always there when we need Him. There is no greater love than the love he has for us. Thank you for sharing this with us, Tyson.
Very good and beautiful thoughts. I do have a heavy heart with someone who is very special to me. I've spoke to Heavenly Father many times over it. Some things just won't be healed on this earth. But with your post, I'll try again. Thanks Tyson!
